How long should my goggles last?
Goggles, like most sports’ equipment, have a natural lifespan that depends on how often you use them and how well you care for them. A swimmer hitting the pool five or more times a week may only get 3-6 months out of their goggles, while someone swimming 2-3 times a week could see them last closer to a year.
To get the best life out of your goggles, rinse them in fresh water after every swim, dry them in the shade, and store them in their case rather than loose in your bag. With a little care, you’ll keep them clearer, fresher, and ready for more swims.
What are your best care tips?
Swimming pools can be tough on equipment, and that’s not a bad thing! While, chlorine and other pool chemicals keep the water clean and safe for use, they can be harsh on your equipment.
To help your Vorgee gear go the distance:
- Rinse well after every swim with fresh, cold water to wash away chlorine or salt residue
- Dry thoroughly in the shade before storing and avoid leaving items damp in your swim bag for too long. If you must store before dry, use breathable mesh bags or pouches.
- Handle with care by avoiding rough surfaces or excessive stretching of straps and caps.
- Store in a cool, dry place, ideally using cases or pouches provided.
With the right care, your goggles, swimwear, and equipment can perform better for longer!
How do I choose the right pair of goggles?
Choosing the right goggles is as simple as 1, 2, 3.
1. Find your Zone – We’ve grouped our goggles into four “zones,” so you can easily match them to your swim:
- Competition | Designed for racing and club training, with streamlined shapes to reduce drag.
- Fitness | Built for regular training sessions and open water swimming, balancing comfort and performance.
- Junior | Scaled for kids and learn-to-swim programs, with smaller fits for growing faces.
- Recreational | Perfect for casual swimming or lighter usage, with soft seals for all-day comfort.
2. Find your Fit – Every swimmer has their own comfort preference, so we offer four distinct fits:
- Snug | Ideal for swimmers or those who like their goggles to have a low profile and snug fit. The gasket sits and fits firmly inside the eye socket.
- Mid | Ideal for swimmers who like a firm, but comfortable fit. The cushioned gasket sits and fits securely inside the eye socket.
- Broad | Ideal for swimmers who like a wider lens and broader fit. The cushioned, universally shaped, gasket sits and fits securely outside the eye socket.
- Mask | Ideal for junior swimmers who like a mask like fit. The soft, silicone mask shaped gasket sits and sits securely on the brow line through to the tip of the cheek.
3. Choose your Goggle – Once you’ve matched your zone and fit, simply select the style, lens, and colour that suit your swim best.
Hot tip: Before diving in, try the quick fit test. Firmly, but gently, press the over your eyes without using the strap. If they suction and stay in place for a second or two (even just on one side), you’ve found a pair of goggles that will give you a watertight, comfortable, and fog-free swim.
Help – my goggles are the right fit, but they’re fogging at the start of my swim.
Fogging at the start of a swim is completely normal, so don’t ditch your goggles just yet. When you first hop into the water and start swimming, your body is warm and producing heat, while the goggles (and pool water) are typically much cooler. That temperature difference causes condensation to form inside the lenses, just like car windows misting up on a chilly morning.
Because goggles are a small, enclosed space, the warmth from your face can overwhelm the anti-fog coating until everything evens out. Usually, as your swim continues and temperatures balance, the fog will naturally clear.
Quick tip: Adding a tiny drop of cool, clean water inside each lens at the start of your swim can help regulate the temperature difference and reduce condensation.
I left my goggles out in the sun/in the car* (*any hot environment) and the seal is bent out of shape; can I save them?
Typically, yes! Most of our goggles feature a super soft silicone to help the goggles mould to your face. However, this does mean they’re susceptible to getting bent out of shape when in less ideal environments (aren’t we all?!). To rescue your goggles, simply run warm water over the gaskets for a few minutes. Once the goggles have cooled slightly, and it’s safe to do so, wear the goggles for about 10 minutes so they can re-mould to your face. Et voilà!
What are the safety specifications of your products?
Your health and water safety is our priority, which is why our products are independently tested for adherence to all relevant national and international safety standards. For the specific standards our products are compliant with, please refer to the specifications tab on their product page.
We are pleased to advise our goggles, including anti-fog solutions are PFAS free.
What size swimwear is right for me?
Our swimwear is designed for swimmers who want performance and durability. Every piece is made from chlorine-resistant fabric, giving you long-lasting wear and colour that stands up to regular pool use.
Because it’s built for a firm, ‘squad’ fit, you may find the sizing feels more snug than fashion swimwear. We recommend:
- Choosing your usual size for a firm performance style fit.
- Considering sizing up if you’re between sizes or prefer a looser fit.
- Girls and women with longer torsos may benefit from sizing up for added comfort and ease of movement.
Please refer to our size charts here or on each product’s page. If you require further help with sizing, please get in touch here or by emailing enquiries@vorgee.com.
